Short Biography of Grandmaster Datong
Grandmaster Datong (Master Letian): A Chinese-American, founder of “Feng Huang Yuan – The Return of Life to Great Cosmic Unity System” and “Tian Gong” (predecessor of Feng Huang Yuan), and chairman of Feng Huang Yuan International Association and Tian Gong International Foundation. He currently resides in San Francisco, United States.
Grandmaster Datong was born in the village of Zhu'an, which is situated on the bank of Nanxi River in Yongjia County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, on the coast of the East China Sea.
Yongjia boasts a 5,000-year-old history of civilization and a 2,200-year-old history of city construction. It is endowed with incredible natural environment, propitious for nurturing great talents and has a rich cultural heritage. The Nanxi River, with a 300-mile of river basin scenic area, is designated as a national-level scenic spot in China, known for its “beautiful water, unique rocks, numerous waterfalls, and ancient villages”. For nearly two millennia, Yongjia has embraced the tradition of “passing down poetry and books, and inheriting the cultivation and reading culture” and has profound cultural heritage of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. It is the “cradle of Chinese landscape poetry”, the “birthplace of Chinese Feng Shui”, and also renowned in Chinese cultural history as the birthplace of the famous “Yongjia School of Thought”, “Four Spirits of Yongjia” and “Masters of Yongjia”. Coming from a financially humble background, Grandmaster was physically weak and often sick during his childhood. In order to regain his health and continue his education, he commenced his apprenticeship under masters, delving into the practice of Tai Chi and Qigong at the age of fifteen. When he came of age, he devoted himself to the in-dept study of Chinese cultures of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism.
1979
Grandmaster falls into a trough of life, suffering from various severe illnesses. He completely loses both mental and physical working capabilities, spending two and a half years teetering on the brink of life and death.
1982
Grandmaster practices Bronze Bell Qigong under the tutelage of the Chinese Bronze Bell Qigong Master Ma Youzhong for half a year. During this time, his various illnesses are completely healed, and his psychic abilities begin to manifest. Subsequently, he continuously receives high-energy cosmic messages that guide him on his path. While imparting his teachings, he simultaneously refines his practice diligently. Despite facing numerous trials and tribulations, miracles unfold one after another.
1989
Finally, as things fall into place and conditions ripen, he reaches a breakthrough. Building upon the foundation of Bronze Bell Qigong, which has a history of more than 1,400 years, Tian Gong is founded by Grandmaster.
In the 1980s and 1990s, Grandmaster participates in numerous Chinese Qigong symposiums and the International Qigong Conference, delivering insightful speeches, performing extraordinary abilities, and conducting group energy healing sessions. Several of his writings are selected into the Conference Research Collection.
1992 April
Grandmaster is invited to the Third International Qigong Conference held in Tokyo, Japan, as a representative of the Chinese Qigong delegation. He delivers a visionary speech about the importance of Qigong in the 21st century and performs energy healing for various patients with intractable diseases, achieving miraculous effects. His impressive success and powerful energy presence resonate throughout the venue, earning acclaim in Japan.
After returning to China, Grandmaster is jointly entrusted by the Chinese Commission for Physical Education, the International Qigong Science Federation, and the Physical Education Research Association of China to conduct a touring series of lectures and energy healing sessions in 16 provinces and cities in China, promoting Tian Gong practice. This year-long journey covers thousands of miles and achieves widespread impact on the Qigong community in China.
1994 September
China Central Television (CCTV) establishes the "Exploring the Science of Life" production team and selects 20 Qigong methods from over 3,000 Qigong schools in China to create a special television documentary series. "Tian Gong", which is founded by Grandmaster Datong, is selected as the first Qigong practice to be filmed.
In the 1990s, through diligent efforts in the fields of Qigong and Somatic Science, Grandmaster receives recognition and support from the Chinese Commission for Physical Education and prominent leaders in the Qigong community.
Grandmaster's achievements in the research of theory in life sciences and the activation of human extraordinary abilities are being valued by some academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Many university professors take up the practice of Tiangong and share their testimonials.
Grandmaster Datong (Chen Letian) is twice awarded the title “Outstanding Chinese Qigong Master” by the Chinese Research Association for Physical Education and Qigong.
1995
Grandmaster is invited to tour five European countries and the United States. In the United States, he is granted an “Outstanding Talent” green card, allowing him to stay in the country and facilitate in the exchange and fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.
Grandmaster begins to embark on spiritual journeys to 40 countries, visiting mystical regions of the Earth and famous historical sites, conducting paranormal research and studies of ancient health preservation and spiritual practice methods from higher dimensions, and exploring ancient civilizations, successive civilizations, subterranean civilizations, extraterrestrial civilizations, and the mysteries of the cosmos.
2003
Grandmaster makes a great vow, dedicating his life to the divine mission of "saving oneself, saving all beings, and saving the Earth." In the same year, he brings forth the long-lost mystical spiritual practice of “Energetic Transformation of Human Being (Tuo Tai Huan Gu)”.
2005
After leading his students on years of arduous exploration, significant breakthroughs have finally been made in the paranormal research on “Karmic Diseases of the Soul” that severely harm a person’s physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
